While the economy spirals into a massive recession, it’s nice to know that wealthy stars like Kate Hudson are pretending they are just like you and me.

According to The Sun:

    “THE global financial crisis has hit multi-millionaire KATE HUDSON. So much so, the sexy star will be cutting back her Christmas expenditure this year to combat the credit crunch. Kate will even be employing her craft skills to make her family gifts. She said: “I think it’s a really weird time and I think that everyone is feeling it. We’ve always been pretty crafty anyway. We all knit. The girls knit. This year I’m doing these great big knit…well, actually I shouldn’t even talk about it because I can’t say it!”

Wow, this economic recession becomes more and more real every day, as news of the rich and famous falling on hard times losing homes, cars, and other royalties erupts.

“American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino is the latest to fall in the foreclosure crisis.

According to some conflicting reports, Fantasia may lose her 1.3 million home in Charlotte as the result of not being able to afford taxes from 2006. The North Carolina 6,232-square-foot home will be auctioned off on January 12. Court documents show that Florida-based Broward Energy Partners agreed to pay more than $68,000 of Barrino’s taxes in October 2006. She repaid $10,000, but a judge later allowed the company to recover the full loan. It’s unclear why the home was chosen as compensation.

A company attorney didn’t return a message Tuesday, and Fantasia’s record label, J Records, had no comment.

After being forced out of his Tonight Show spot at the top of his ratings game, Jay Leno is being given the 10 p.m. slot at NBC…EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK!

Wow! The Vikings’ Visanthe Shiancoe had quite a bit of exposure during a recent postgame video. During this postgame video that aired on Sunday from inside the Minnesota Vikings’ locker room was a quick shot of Visanthe Shiancoe’s penis.

Minnesota Vikings Visanthe Shiancoe had a little problem with his towel, as it slipped down revealing his penis. The flash only lasted a fifth of a second but of course the YouTube video shows the entire episode in slow motion. You can view that below the post.

Within an hour of the towel incident, it was already up on the internet. According to the editor of one of those sites, some viewers who thought they saw something naughty rewound their DVRs, used freeze frame and found out that they had indeed seen something naughty, and then e-mailed off the photos.

“It was unfortunate,” Aiello said. “These are long-standing procedures we have. The televising network, upon request and with the permission of the club, is allowed to record and videotape in the post-game locker room setting. We’ll review the procedures with the networks this week.”

Christie Hefner, daughter of Hugh Hefner, announced that she will be leaving Playboy after 20 years! Hefner said that she will stay on as CEO until Jan. 31 and remain on the board until they find a replacement. Read more on Christie Hefner and see photos below.

In the interim, Jerome Kern, a long-time director, has been appointed as the non-executive chairman.

Hefner said that “just as this country is embracing change in the form of new leadership, I have decided that now is the time to make changes in my own life as well.”

Hefner recently gave an interview to CNBC where she hinted that she may be vying for a role in the Obama Administration.

“Like many Americans, I’ve been struck by the call to service that was the hallmark of the campaign, and I was an early supporter of Senator Obama, now President-Elect Obama, and I believe deeply in what he wants to do for our country,” Hefner said. “I’ll be looking for ways in which I can serve to be helpful in that regard.”

Hefner, now 56, joined her father’s magazine out of college and took over as chairman and CEO in 1988 from Hugh Hefner.

Remakes of amazing televisions shows end up disastrous. The dude who played Mike on Knight Rider was really annoying. He had this baby face thing going on- not a bad boy face. He looked horrible. However, KITT was amazing, like always. KITT really knows how to work his magic. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for us.

It’s pretty depressing because I’m sure this means that there will be another reality show that takes its place.

Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil is a real jerk. Blake reportedly is trying to get $1.6 million out of Amy Winehouse saying if she pays up he will keep his big mouth shut about details of their marriage. Almost sounds like blackmail huh?

Blake Fielder-Civil recently gave an interview stating that he is the one that was responsible for getting Amy Winehouse into drugs, and was taking responsibility. And in being the “big person” that he is… he was going to divorce Amy so she could better herself.

But now, sources near Amy Winehouse say Blake Fielder-Civil is demanding $1.6 million to divorce Amy, and that he’ll keep his trap shut about their lives as a married couple if she pays up! What a douche!

It is very interesting hearing this latest news as Blake just said last week that he didn’t want any money out of Amy Winehouse. But the source says, “That’s all pretence — Blake has asked Amy’s manager for £1 million (US$1.6 million) to walk away from their marriage and not write a tell-all book about it. He’s so two-faced. He just wants a pay-off. Money’s his driving force.”

Sadly, Blake’s mother seems to be in on her son’s crappy demands, and said Blake deserves at least $4.4 million “after all he’s been through with her”.

Things have gotten much more serious for Jessica Simpson and her Dallas Cowboy’s football player, Tony Romo. It is being reported that Simpson and Romo are now living together in Texas.

Jessica Simpson recently said in an interview that boyfriend, Tony Romo is “the whole package,” “the calm of the storm in my life” and “everything I could dream of.”

Jessica Simpson, 28, just celebrated her one-year anniversary with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo over Thanksgiving and is reportedly shacked up with him in his Texas home.

“They are doing great,” a source enthuses to the mag. “Now it’s Tony, Jess and his roommate!”

Another source says she only visits Romo in Texas stating, “Jessica stays at his home when she’s in town, but she hasn’t totally moved in yet. She’s been busy with her country music stuff.”

Tony Romo has his hands full with Jessica Simpson who revealed to People magazine, “To be my man, you have to put up with a lot. I toot under the sheets, I spend a lot of money and I can belch the ABCs.”

John Rich of country group, “Big and Rich” married his girlfriend of many years, model Joan Bush. Their wedding took place on Saturday evening in an intimate ceremony of around 24 family members, with a larger reception for friends held later in the evening at Nashville’s Fontanel Mansion, according to People.com.

John Rich and Joan Bush, who runs a modeling agency in Houston, Texas, have been dating for more than five years.
