Nick Lachey reportedly was the one to dump Vanessa Minnillo, contrary to previous reports.  And the reason? Vanessa is said to be too materialistic.

The Chicago Sun Times reported:

“Frankly, he was pretty bored,” said a longtime Lachey pal, who says he’s been seeing this splitsville situation coming “for at least the past few months. … Nick just didn’t find he and Vanessa had all that much in common anymore — with the exception of their shared experiences over the three years they had dated.”

A source close to Lachey’s management team said there were concerns Minnillo may have been more interested in material possessions than Lachey would have liked. “I don’t think her publicly announcing she was expecting an engagement ring of ‘at least 10 carats’ went over too well,” the source said.

Nick Lachey seems like a real down-to-earth nice guy, he needs a nice regular chick. What do you guys think?

Was Michael Jackson’s death caused by a painkiller overdose?  Sources report Michael Jackson went into cardiac arrest after an injection of Demerol, a narcotic pain reliever similar to Morphine. Read more below.

A source at the UCLA hospital’s emergency room said that Jackson’s people told paramedics Jackson had collapsed after an injection of Demerol.

The source stated: “Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing. His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.”

“His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes “But found he was in full respiratory arrest, no breathing and no pulse. They started full CPR and rushed him to hospital.”

“When he arrived they started resuscitation, giving him heart shocks and inserted a breathing tube and other supportive measures to try and save his life.

“He never regained consciousness.The family was told that he had passed.”

The Jackson’s family lawyer, Brian Oxman, said Michael had collapsed at the home he rented in Los Angeles’ Holmby Hills, with his brother Randy Jackson present.

Sources close to Jackson say he had been taking prescription painkillers including anti-anxiety drugs Xanax, Zoloft and painkiller Demerol in recent months.

Jackson family lawyer Brian Oxman confirmed Jackson may have had trouble with prescription drugs as he prepared for his London show.

“This was something which I feared and something which I warned about,” Oxman said on CNN. “I can tell you for sure that this is something I warned about. Where there is smoke there is fire.”

The Los Angeles City Fire Department confirmed the 911 call was made from Jackson’s home.

“The call came in because a person was not breathing,” said a spokesman.

“When the team arrived, they saw that CPR was already in progress by someone at the home.

“The person not breathing was transported to UCLA Medical Centre.”

Jackson’s family members said that Michael, who was about to start his comeback tour in London, “was in really bad shape”.

Demerol brand of meperidine is a synthetic opiate narcotic, very similar to Morphine. It is very addictive.

Quirky but sexy singer Katy Perry has revealed she just can’t stop thinking about her favorite foods, even saying they have a ’sexual’ attraction..

Katy Perry, 24,  posted a picture on her Twitter page showing her naked in the bath covered only by a tray of half-eaten pizza. Yum!  Pizza and a bath… our kind of girl!

Perry had been in bed for days suffering with the flu and wrote:  ‘Why is it that after not eating for three days all i can think of is food… food is smiling at me… luring me with sexual seduction.’

Fans of Perry’s asked about her favorite foods and Katy said:  ‘Few of my fave things: BBQ chicken chop at CPK Chinese, chicken salad at Chinchins, Rock shrimp & yellow tail sashimi at Nobu, Crispy beef at Mr.Chow’s, endive salad at Le Petite, four curry chicken salad at Urth Cafe, my beloved double double at INnOut.

Perry must not indulge in her favorite foods often with her slender figure.

She also posted a picture of herself altered to show how she might look if she did, labeling it ‘future me’.

Her fans mostly reacted positively to the oversized Katy.

She wrote: ‘More people are saying ‘I’d still hit it’ to the future me than the me now. damn. Super size it!’

Billy Bob Thornton’s oldest daughter, Amanda Brumfield,  was indicted on Wednesday on charges including first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter. These charges for Brumfield stem from the October 2008 death of a 1 year-old girl while in her care.

Amanda Brumfield, 29, was booked at the Orange County Jail, and is being held without bail, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

When Brumfield was arrested this month, she told detectives that the little girl she was babysitting hit her head in a fall. Amanda Brumfield said she called for help more than two hours later after being unable to revive the child, said police.

The 1 year-old girl’s autopsy revealed a fractured skull and brain injury, leading the medical examiner to rule the death a homicide. Police said Brumfield’s explanation was inconsistent with the child’s injuries.

When Brumfield was arrested, a publicist for Thornton told CNN that the actor, 53, and his daughter are estranged, “and [he] has had no contact with her for quite some time.”

After the sad news has been released on Farrah Fawcett’s death in Los Angeles Thursday morning, her lifelong love Ryan O’Neal has released a statement on Farrah’s death.

In a true-life love-story, Farrah’s partner of 30 years has released the following statement:

“She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages. She’s now with he mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now.”

O’Neal reveals that Farrah was surrounded by her many doctors and close friends when she passed away. He says, “She was with her team when she passed … Her eyes were open, but she didn’t say anything. But you could see in her eyes that she recognized us.”

Farrah’s funeral service will be held at the downtown Catholic cathedral in Los Angeles in a next few days.

“The View’s” comedian and co-host Joy Behar has decided not to marry her boyfriend Steve Janowitz. 

Behar joked about calling off her engagement saying, “I’m getting my own talk show on HLN, so I don’t have to get married anymore,” Joy Behar is quoted as announcing, reports New York’s Daily News.

“Actually, I got cold feet again, so I don’t know what I’m going to do. It’s off the table. What’ll happen is, when I decide to do it, I’ll do it, and then everybody will know I did it. I can’t make up my mind.”

As for her boyfriend Steve Janowitz she said, He’s fine,” she told The Daily News. “He says, ‘Do whatever you want.’”

Joy’s rep told ET: “She has cold feet and she is too busy prepping for her new show this fall on HLN”

“I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”

Janet Jackson’s rep has released a statement from the singer on her brother, Michael Jackson’s, death.

“The star is saddened by the lost and is currently on a flight from London to L.A. to be with her family,” says the rep.

I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from the family on their beloved Michael as the days go on. This is still such a shock to all, our thoughts are with the Jackson family in their time of grief.

Farrah Fawcett passed away Thursday morning in California. She was surrounded by family and friends at St. Joseph Health Center in Los Angeles. The Charlie’s Angels alum bravely battled cancer for the last several years. She was 62 years old. R.I.P
