“Fall Out Boy” NO MORE?

Fall Out Boy

It appears as if the members of Fall Out Boy are going their separate ways.

There are reports that Fall Out Boy has come to an end, confirmed by Pete Wentz’s posts on Twitter.

Pete Wentz wrote on his Twitter Monday night, “Can’t imagine playing in FOB again.”  And Pete added, “Something would have to change in my head or my heart—not my wallet. It’d have to be real…Don’t you get it? A hiatus is forever until you get lonely or old. I don’t plan on either.”

And the band’s frontman, Patrick Stump, told Spin.com, “I’m not in Fall Out Boy right now.”  Stump adds, “Whether we play again or not, I don’t know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don’t, it will also be for the right reasons.”

Patrick Stump is moving on and putting out a solo record. FOB’s guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley have teamed up with members of Anthrax to form Damned Things.

Pete Wentz is in New York City with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and their baby boy Bronx, recording a track for “Alice in Wonderland” with Mark Hoppus of Blink 182.  .

“Feel like I have to be honest but fair to my bros in the band at the same time—it’s no1’s fault ppl grow apart,” Pete tweeted. “Not gonna speak to anything publicly about the band internally. My brothers 2 the grave. Thnx 4 being there from day 1.”

Steven Tyler Threatens Legal Action If Aerosmith Finds New Singer

wenn26498211 Steven Tyler Threatens Legal Action If Aerosmith Finds New Singer

Steven Tyler’s new manager has mailed a letter to Aerosmith’s management threatening to sue if the band finds a new singer.

In the letter, Tyler’s lawyer Skip Miller maintains that Tyler is synonymous with Aerosmith: “Can you imagine the manager of the Rolling Stones calling for the replacement of Mick Jagger?” Miller writes. “Steven is Aerosmith, along with the others. He’s the guy the public knows. He’s the singer.”

Steven Tyler had entered rehab for his addiction to pain medicine and said he would stay in Aerosmith:

“I wish to set the record straight and say that I have read reports of a rumored two-year hiatus and want to be clear that this is completely false and I will enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled.”

Miller’s letter added, “Steven Tyler does not want lawsuits. We do not want to go in that direction. The direction we want is Aerosmith, with Steven Tyler, touring in Europe, touring Latin America, releasing a new album… This is the direction it’s all intended to go.”

Tyler’s bandmates are rumored to have asked singers such as Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz, and Paul Rodgers to fill in for Tyler on the road while the frontman works on “Brand Tyler.”

Steven Tyler’s lawyer said Aerosmith’s public singer search for a new singer constitutes “acts and conduct to the harm and detriment of your own client, Aerosmith, and our client who is one of its members.”

Sublime Facing Lawsuit By Late Singer Bradley Nowell’s Family

Sublime news

The reunited punk band Sublime is facing a lawsuit by their late frontman’s family if they perform at this weekends Smokeout Festival in California.

The surviving  members of the band Sublime had announced their plans to stage a comeback at the Smokeout Festival, which would be their first show together after the death of their frontman Bradley Nowell in 1996.

But the day before their show, Nowell’s family threatened Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson and their replacement singer Rome Ramirez with a lawsuit if the band takes the stage under the name Sublime.

A statement from the family reads, “Prior to his untimely passing, both Bud and Eric acknowledged that Brad Nowell was the sole owner of the name Sublime. It was Brad’s expressed intention that no one use the name Sublime in any group that did not include him, and Brad even registered the trademark Sublime under his own name.  “As Brad’s heirs, and with the support of his entire family, we only want to respect his wishes and therefore have not consented to Bud and Eric calling their new project Sublime… Out of respect for Brad’s wishes, we have always refused to endorse any group performing as Sublime, and now with great reluctance feel compelled to take the appropriate legal action to protect Brad’s legacy. Our hope is that Brad’s ex-bandmates will respect his wishes and find a new name to perform under.”

But so far Sublime remains on the Smokeout bill along with bands Slipknot, Deftones, Cypress Hill, Geto Boys, Goodie Mob, Pennywise, Redman & Method Man and Bad Brains.

Sublime surviving members Gaugh and Wilson issued a statement in response to the estate Friday afternoon, stating that there have already been unsuccessful legal attempts made to stop the band from performing.

It reads, “While we all mourn the passing of our brother and bandmate Bradley Nowell some thirteen years ago, Sublime still has a strong message of hope and love to share — a  message that is especially important in these difficult times … Brad’s heirs apparently do not share this vision and do not want the band Sublime to continue and tried — unsuccessfully — to file a temporary restraining order to prevent the band from carrying on. Despite those objections, we are pleased that the United States District Court has allowed us to perform as Sublime for all of our fans.

Country Duo “Brooks and Dunn” Breaking Up!

brooks dunn 040808

The country duo of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have posted a message on their Web site Monday saying they agreed to “call it a day” after 20 years making music.

Brooks and Dunn posted this message on their website:

“This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed … We owe it all to you, the fans,” they said in the message. “If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just time.”

But Brooks & Dunn will be releasing a greatest-hits album in September and will tour their last time in 2010.

The country duo has many hits including “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “My Maria,” “Red Dirt Road” and “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” with Reba McEntire.

Brooks and Dunn have recorded 10 studio albums together.  “They’ve been to the mountaintop and they’ve accomplished everything that two human beings joined together musically can do in a career,” said Brian Philips, president of Country Music Television. “They’ve had every kind of hit. Literally, they’ve explored every musical texture and tempo and style and flavor.”

CMT is reportedly taping Brooks & Dunn performing and talking about their music Wednesday for an episode of the show “Invitation Only” that will air in October.

“The guys that I know, I can’t imagine either of those two individuals walking away from music. That’s unthinkable,” Philip said.

Brooks & Dunn have won the Country Music Association’s vocal duo of the year award every year between 1992 and 2006, except for 2000.

Are you guys surprised to hear Brooks and Dunn are splitting up?
